Let’s meet the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, shall we? Cavaliers are recognizable because of their large, warm, loving eyes and soft, silky coats. Brushing out their coat helps control any shedding the Cavalier may experience, and minimal trimming is needed. Cavaliers are intelligent and highly trainable. Cavaliers enjoy human companionship and have a friendly personality, making them an excellent choice for a 1st-time dog owner. Having a fenced-in backyard or keeping them on a leash is essential due to their hunting instincts. Once they are on a scent (especially of a squirrel, bird, or butterfly), the Cavalier warrants following it. Barking is very minimal and only when the Cavalier deems an emergency.
